Design Considerations Substrate 7 to 24 pt coated stock is recommended. 60 - 100 lb coated stocks can be used, however some curling or cracking may be evident with lighter stocks. This process is not recommended for use with uncoated stocks. Complimentary Processes UVcoat Bond works well with applications requiring gluing. Foil stamping or embossing should be done before coating is applied. Alternative Processes For an equally high gloss finish and glueability, you may wish to consider Mylar High Gloss Film Lamination. General Coating and Laminating Guidelines Offset spray should be kept to a minimum. Low-wax, non-bleeding inks should be used, metallic inks are not recommended. Sufficient time should be allowed for ink to dry before any coating is applied. For the best possible adhesion of the coating to the substrate, corona treatment is available for UV coatings . Rhodamine red, reflex blue and purple should be avoided if possible. Your ink supplier can recommend inks, or call us for a complimentary test and recommendations. UV Bond can be applied to one side of the press sheet only.
