Design Considerations Substrate 7 to 24 pt. coated stock is recommended. 60 - 100 lb coated stocks can be used, however some curling may be evident. Uncoated stock, plastic (PVC) or Chromkote stocks are not recommended. Clay coated stocks and polystyrene can be coated. Complimentary Processes UVcoat High Gloss can be used in conjunction with foil stamping or embossing but is recommended if done before coating. Alternative Processes For an equally high gloss finish with even greater durability and resistance to fingerprints and cracking, you may wish to consider High Gloss Film Lamination. General Coating and Laminating Guidelines Offset spray should be kept to a minimum. Low-wax, non-bleeding inks should be used, metallic inks are not recommended. Sufficient time should be allowed for ink to dry before a coating is applied. For all UV coatings, corona treatment is available for greater adhesion. Rhodamine red, reflex blue and purple should be avoided if possible. Your ink supplier can recommend inks, or call us for a complimentary test and recommendations. UV High Gloss can be applied on 1 or 2 sides.
