Strip UVcoat

Description
A cost-effective, premium UVcoat High Gloss finish with strips left uncoated for gluing.

Typical Coating Applications
Strip UVcoat is recommended for:

  • labels
  • cartons/boxes
  • software packaging

Design Considerations

Substrate
7 to 24 pt coated stock is recommended. 60 - 100 lb coated stocks can be used, but some curling may be evident with lighter stocks. The minimum strip width is 1/8" and the maximum strip width is 1". Strips can be put in one direction only. Since strips are put on to allow for gluing, the lacquers used in this process are not considered glueable.

Alternative Processes
As an alternative to Strip UV, you may wish to consider Spot UVcoat.

General Coating and Laminating Guidelines
Offset spray should be kept to a minimum. Low-wax, non-bleeding inks should be used, metallic inks are not recommended. Sufficient time should be allowed for ink to dry before applying coating. Rhodamine red, reflex blue and purple should be avoided if possible. Your ink supplier can recommend inks, or call us for a complimentary test and recommendations. Strip UV can be applied on 1 or 2 sides.
